Ares Source needed a few hours to pick up and become a viral topic on the Internet and the Metaverse. After all, Ares Source was actually a leap of faith.
The project would live on the Aressource.com. The community that would built around the open source project was overwhelming. People got excited about space exploration again, it really felt like it belonged to them, it gave agency to a shared vision about the future that was until then restricted to few.
After the climate incidents of 2027 and 2028 humanity was irritatingly absent from collective visions. The events left a strong trauma on everyone and collective participation was limited. This is maybe why the bottom up approach of Ares Source really picked up the next decade or so.
